The office design and build specialist turned its expertise on itself to transform a run-down unit in St Mellons into an inspirational office environment, which combines a corporate client-facing side with a creative hub for staff consisting of open-plan areas, hot desks, bench configurations and individual offices.

The 14,000 sq ft development includes a gym, café bar, quiet room and landscaped gardens to encourage staff to adopt a healthier work-life balance by giving them more freedom and choice to relax away from their desks.

Paramount Office Interiors' new showroom provides a glimpse of the workplace of the future. With pioneering innovative designs aimed at raising the standards of office accommodation to provide cleaner, greener, more environmentally-friendly places to work.

The use of innovative 'green' ideas and designs will help to improve energy efficiency of offices, as well as providing more attractive environments for people to spend their working days.

“We sat down with our design department led by Helen Bartlett, and the brief we gave her was to create that ‘Wow’ factor and to collaborate with our key suppliers who are market leaders in their own right, and take a tired, ugly run-down 14,000 sq ft building and turn it into something unique in our industry. We want our customers who visit to be not just impressed, but inspired by what can be created by imaginative and clever design coupled with the use of up to the minute products, some never seen before. The brief included not just the interior but extended to the curtain glazing system, new windows and cladding, along with imaginative landscaping to complement the building.

“Another key component of the brief was that the building needed to be designed with the environment at the fore, and as we walk through the space can demonstrate the innovative way we have achieved this goal, again in collaboration with our key suppliers.

“It has been difficult in the past for potential customers to gain a full appreciation of Paramount’s breadth of capability, but now a visit to our new HQ should make this clear and set us apart from our competition.”
